How We Started
The ICED Cap is the brainchild of a professional mechanical engineer who specializes in heating and air conditioning. About two years after being bitten by the running bug and competing in races and triathlons, he began to train for the 2012 IRONMAN in Louisville. Throughout his brutal training sessions in the Georgia heat, he realized that his body heat and heart rate were too high for his body to be able to perform in the most efficient way possible. He thought, “There’s got to be a way to cool down somehow.” Many concepts later, the original homemade ICED Cap was born.
Early Days
Testers of the first-generation cooling device found that it made them feel substantially more comfortable during training and races, but most importantly, it enabled them to achieve faster times than they could without the ICED Cap.
Competitive Edge
The ICED Cap has now been used to compete in and win many running competitions of all distances- ultramarathons, marathons, half-marathons, 10K, 5K, and more. We have also found that it works wonderfully in countless other applications such as playing tennis, fishing, lounging on the beach or by the pool, gardening/landscaping, and more!
Moving Forward
As time went by, innovation became paramount to reach more and more people with this amazing product. We began to brainstorm new designs and better features to allow for maximum comfort and the best performance possible.
